Campus Construction Director (m/f/d)

As the Campus Construction Director (m/f/d), you will be accountable for leading and managing a team of internal and external stakeholders to deliver Hyperscale Data Center, Retail Data Center, and Infrastructure projects. The position requires a self-motivated construction leader who will lead a dedicated team of internal and external professionals to deliver industry-leading data center construction, infrastructure, and fit-out projects at dedicated sites of the respective data center hub.

The role is predominantly based in Frankfurt with some flexibility to work from home.


  • Be accountable for strategic planning and execution of NTT Data Center construction, fit-out, and infrastructure projects, at the respective site(s)
  • Manage, develop, and coach a team of internal and external construction managers, project managers, design managers, and general/subcontractors.
  • Develop and foster a strong sense of ownership within the project delivery team and NTT GDC peer stakeholders to drive and maintain industry best practice standards across the campus
  • Collaborate with peers across the organization to implement industry best practice and standards on-site
  • Govern, measure, and, if required, correct project performance against key performance indicators and commitments across Safety, Schedule, quality, and Cost targets
  • Drive close stakeholder alignment with the Commercial, Operations and Commissioning teams, creating a positive and transparent working environment
  • Provide single point of contact for project/campus development and delivery
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting of project status to the Senior Director of Construction and wider business
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks that arise during the course of the projects
  • Clearly outline, define and execute construction methodologies from inception to handover on-site, continuously seeking and implementing opportunities to learn and improve the end-to-end delivery

  • Extensive experience in a site-based management role within a mission-critical construction industry, overseeing multiple concurrent capex projects
  • Have extensive experience in the planning and delivery of large capex projects, varying delivery methods (Management Contracting, traditional and D&B), and forms of contract (i.e. FIDIC, JCT)
  • Demonstrate Data Center and/or mission-critical construction experience
  • Possess excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate complex and high-pressure environments
  • Proficient in the use of project and commercial management tools and processes
  • Proficient in construction contract management
  • Clear understanding of construction design stages and deliverables
  • Client-side experience is preferrable
  • Experience in presenting to senior leadership both internally and within the client teams
  • Have experience in managing and developing direct and vendor teams
  • Excellent project management experience and skillset, with the ability to operate within a multi-cultural environment
  • Proficient in both the English and German language
