We are seeking a driven technician with proven hands-on experience in soldering, desoldering, wiring and troubleshooting tasks. In this role, you will support and maintain existing products to ensure they remain fully operational, while continuously improving the reliability and robustness of complex robotic systems.
Success in this role requires both technical excellence and the ability to adapt and make decisions under uncertainty.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure that the robotics systems are ready to be used at all times
- Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly documentation for testing rigs or needed components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure seamless system integration
- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and quality control documentation, support and creation of SOPs
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development and production phases
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in robotics and mechanical/electronics design
- Perform assembly and disassembly of robots/robots' components, mechanical parts, and PCBs
- Carry out soldering, desoldering, wiring, and basic troubleshooting tasks (e.g. oscilloscope)
- Support procurement activities by identifying suitable products which meet requirements, sourcing suppliers, and obtaining quotations
- Open to travel to China for business trips
- Collaborate with Chinese colleagues on technical tasks
- Work autonomously on open-ended, evolving tasks
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven work experience in related fields
- Experience in robotics, mechatronics, or automation industries
- Background in designing articulated systems with multi-DOF (degrees of freedom)
- Familiarity with lightweight and high-strength materials (carbon fiber, composites, aluminum alloys)
- Knowledge of dynamic sealing solutions for moving parts in harsh environments
- Experience on integration of electromechanical components (actuators, sensors, bearings, gears, etc.) for optimal performance in robots
- Knowledge of structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis to validate designs
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (3dx) /Altium
- Proficiency in English, Spoken and written
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles (kinematics, dynamics, material selection)
- Knowledge of actuators and sensors using robotics, familiarity with sensor integration (force/torque sensors, encoders, IMUs)
- Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting)
- Hands-on experience with soldering SMD components
