  • Build driver-based operating and valuation models (DCF, LBO, CCA/CTA) to assess impact on equity value and returns
  • Prepare high-quality analyses and materials for investment committees and senior leadership

M&A Origination & Execution
  • Contribute to pipeline development: build target lists, conduct market and competitor analyses, and develop investment theses
  • Support M&A processes end-to-end (buy-side, sell-side, and bolt-ons) – from origination to closing
  • Perform transaction-specific valuations and returns analyses
  • Coordinate workstreams across internal teams, banks, consultants, and law firms
  • Prepare decision-grade presentations and materials for management and external stakeholders

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking (M&A), Private Equity/Venture Capital, Strategy Consulting, or Transaction Services/Financial Due Diligence (strong internship track record also considered)
  • Strong interest in business models, competitive dynamics, and market structures
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Structured, hands-on approach and strong process discipline under time pressure
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Team player with good judgment, curiosity, and a self-starter mindset – respectful, pragmatic, and eager to learn

  • Hybrid working setup at our Duisburg Campus (regional presence required; not suitable for full remote or long-distance commuting)
  • Regular travel to portfolio companies and external advisors
  • Collaborative, performance-driven culture with flat hierarchies and a strong sense of purpose
