Head of Indirect Materials (m/f/d)
Join Trench Group as Head of Indirect Materials Procurement (m/f/d), where your expertise will drive the strategic sourcing of all indirect categories—including professional services, logistics, IT, MRO, and other non-production spend—across our global locations.
You will lead and develop a worldwide team of category managers and buyers, optimize supplier performance, and collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, EHS, and engineering to ensure the efficient, compliant, and value-adding procurement of indirect goods and services.
Your ability to shape and execute procurement strategies, foster strong supplier relationships, and deliver innovative sourcing solutions will be key in supporting Trench Group's commitment to operational excellence and sustainability in the energy sector.
Your Tasks:
- Strategy and Planning : Develop and implement category strategies for all indirect spend areas across multiple sites, Monitor and control indirect procurement budgets
- Procurement Processes and Contract Management: Drive sourcing events, supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting, Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and internal controls
- Supplier Management: Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships and lead regular supplier performance reviews and meetings
- Internal Collaboration and Requirements Gathering: Partner closely with plant managers, facility teams, IT, engineering, and finance to understand and align on requirements
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop a team of category managers and buyers
- Support for Investment Projects: Support CAPEX projects, site expansions, and major investment programs
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in various procurement functions within an international setting with a focus on indirect materials
- Negotiation and Supplier Management Skills: Strong negotiation skills and experience managing a broad supplier base
- Technical Proficiency: Familiar with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and digital procurement tools
- Leadership and Management Abilities: Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and project management abilities
- Language Skills: Fluent in English; German and/or French are a strong advantage
- A key leadership role with high visibility across the Trench organization
