Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant / Senior Financial Analyst (m/f/d) to join our finance team in a dynamic manufacturing environment in a medium size enterprise.

The successful candidate will be responsible for cost accounting, budgeting, financial consolidation, and management reporting, providing critical insights to support decision-making and cost efficiency.

Fluency in German and English—both written and spoken—is required, while Chinese language skills and experience in the aviation or aerospace industry are strong advantages but is not essential.


Cost Accounting & Analysis

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of product costing, standard cost maintenance, and variance analysis.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overheads, to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Perform inventory valuation and reconciliation, ensuring correct cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and engineering teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Manage the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
  • Conduct detailed budget vs. actual analyses and provide commentary on financial performance.
  • Partner with business and operational teams to ensure alignment between financial plans and operational goals.

Consolidation & Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
  • Consolidate financial results across multiple business units or regional entities.
  • Present clear financial insights and recommendations to senior management and corporate teams.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting aligned with company policies and standards.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Continuously improve costing, reporting, and budgeting processes for better accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and corporate governance requirements.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of hands-on experience in cost accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Previous experience in a tax advisor (Steuerberater) office is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory control.
  • Experience in financial consolidation and management reporting.
  • Fluent in German & English (both written and spoken, C1 or above).
  • Proficiency in Chinese would be an advantage, but is not essential.
  • Knowledge of the aviation or aerospace industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in ERP systems (Abas ERP) desirable.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
