Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for an Automotive Test Engineer (Vehicle Access Systems) to be based at our office in Munich.

Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.


The Test Engineer will be responsible for executing end-to-end validation and integration activities for Vehicle Access systems within connected vehicle platforms for a customer based in Germany. In this role, you will contribute to defining test strategies, support cross-functional technical teams, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure test reliability. Your responsibilities will include integrating required hardware and software components, executing test cases, documenting results, and supporting issue identification and resolution in alignment with project milestones and OEM standards.

Area of Responsibility

  • Support the definition and execution of End-to-End test and validation activities for Vehicle Access Systems (e.g., Smart Access, Digital Key) and related systems such as Child Presence Detection.
  • Develop and update test specifications for various test environments, including vehicle, rig, virtual, and automated setups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and OEM stakeholders to ensure test planning, integration, and execution align with project timelines and technical requirements.
  • Perform hands-on testing, data collection, and analysis to validate system performance and compliance with OEM standards.
  • Contribute to issue identification, tracking, and resolution, ensuring high-quality validation outcomes.
  • Support the preparation of test reports and documentation to communicate results and support project readiness and customer satisfaction.

  • Solid experience in system validation and integration within the automotive domain, with a focus on Vehicle Access technologies such as Smart Access and Digital Key.
  • Hands-on experience in planning and executing functional tests, analysing system behaviour, and validating performance and reliability.
  • Familiarity with collaborating across cross-functional teams, including coordination with global partners and certification bodies (e.g., Apple, Google, OEM suppliers).
  • Proficient in using automotive diagnostic and testing tools such as CANalyser, CANoe, Vector tools, and software/ECU flashing tools.
  • Working knowledge of requirements management tools like DOORS and experience in interpreting and validating system requirements.
  • Demonstrates a solution-oriented mindset, with a strong ability to troubleshoot issues and contribute to high-quality validation reports in dynamic project environments.
