Lances play a central role in steel production, particularly in processes that remove impurities and refine the steel. Vesuvius has already achieved great success with its monolithic refractory lances, establishing itself as a reliable partner to the steel industry in this field. Due to high demand and the crucial role of lances in improving steel production quality, the company plans to expand sales of this product in a targeted manner and strengthen its market position further.

Within our Advanced Refractories business unit, we develop and supply bespoke, high-performance materials that deliver reliable performance even under extreme thermal and chemical conditions.
To strengthen our dedicated sales team, we are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Manager (m/f/d) to play a central role in driving the growth of Lances in the EMEA region and taking our customer relationships to the next level, both technically and commercially.

Your Role at Vesuvius
You are the link between technology, sales and customers, and play a key role in shaping the success of our innovative refractory solution “Customized Lances”. Working closely with local teams, you identify market potential, support technological developments and position Vesuvius as the preferred partner in the steel industry.
- Establishing, maintaining and developing customer relationships in the steel industry in close cooperation with regional sales teams
- Commercial and strategic responsibility for the ‘Lances' product segment in line with Vesuvius' growth strategy
- Conducting customer appointments, presentations and technical consultations
- Monitoring and evaluating customer trials and providing support for product development projects
- Support development of material and design recommendations in cooperation with R&D, production and engineering
- Processing customer enquiries and complaints, including managing the 8D process
- Participating in trade fairs, conferences and seminars for market development and positioning our solutions
- Technical degree or training with experience in the refractory or steel industry. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of lances, and sales experience.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, as well as enjoyment of customer contact and technical consulting
- Organizational skills, initiative and team spirit
- Very good written and spoken English
- Willingness to travel extensively (60%) within the EMEA region
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in any European or EMEA country and able to travel for business purposes across the region
