Are you driven to bring quantum sensors from the lab into real world applications? Then shape the future of sensing technology as a Development Engineer at Bosch Quantum Sensing. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will transform cutting edge research into real world products, and open up new fields of applications for quantum based magnetometers.

  • Together with a team you will transfer cutting edge research to a miniaturized prototype and develop it to product maturity.
  • You will design, develop and test components for our innovative quantum system.
  • You will contribute to the entire development process of complex sensor systems, from first concepts through to successful implementation.
  • Using programming languages, i.e. Python, you will analyze measurement data and optimize the signal processing of our system.

  • Education: completed university degree in physics, engineering sciences, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable subject
  • Experience and know-how: relevant experience in the quantum physics of nitrogen-vacancy centers (NV centers) in diamonds and their implementation in sensor systems; experience in product development of NV-based quantum magnetometers; broad know-how of various miniaturized sensor system components (sensors, optoelectronics, micro-assembly technology); experience in development, construction, and commissioning of complex sensor systems; knowledge of programming languages (especially Python) as well as signal processing and measurement data evaluation
  • Personality and working style: you thrive working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, to which you will bring your drive to collaboratively develop innovative solutions
  • Enthusiasm: you are passionate about transferring quantum physics into practical applications and appreciate the dynamics and short decision-making paths of a start-up environment
  • Languages: very good communication skills in written and spoken English; basic knowledge of German

*In accordance with our regulations, the gross annual salary for this position is at least 86.000 EUR for a 35h week (for a full year of employment and fulfillment of the eligibility requirements based on collective agreements) in the case of a comprehensive execution of job requirements. In addition, there is an individual, performance-related pay, a bonus based on the company's success, as well as employer benefits for the Bosch pension plan.
