Laboratory Manager (m/f/d)
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced chemist with leadership ambition to combine hands-on lab work with team leadership in a global paints and coatings company.
In this role, you will lead a team of chemists and technicians while also working actively in the laboratory yourself. You will drive the development and maintenance of kitchen, flooring and door coatings. Additionally as a team lead, you will support and develop your team with a coaching mindset, ensuring efficient workflows and developing innovative and sustainable coating solutions for our customers. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, e.g. supporting in raw material sourcing and customer trials and improving production processes. This position can be located in our Vampdrup site in Denmark or in Alzenau, Germany.
Technical Support & Product Development
- Develop and maintain coating products for interior use from idea generation to product implementation at customers
- Test and approve new raw materials in coordination with sourcing and category managers
- Provide technical support to sales, customers and production by, e.g., visiting customers and leading technical discussion with raw material suppliers
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a team with a coaching and encouraging approach
- Ensure clear target setting, regular follow-ups, development discussions and workload balance
- Plan and supervise daily laboratory activities, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery
- Foster a collaborative work environment in line with Teknos' values
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, sustainability principles and continuous improvement

- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field
- Strong technical background in coatings or related chemical industry
- Proven hands-on experience in laboratory work and product development
- Previous experience or willingness to grow in leading people
- Fluency in English, plus German or Danish depending on location
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across functions and countries
