Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Frankfurt Branch was established in June 1999, which holds the universal bank license of Germany and is a correspondent bank for first class clearing of Euro and a member of the Target2 and SEPA of the Euro Clearing System. ICBC Frankfurt Branch is also the Euro Clearing Center of ICBC Group.

We are seeking:

Internal Audit Manager (m/f/d)

Role Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of internal audit activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes to enhance the bank's operations.

Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany (on-site)

Position Type: Full-time


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and management responses.
  • Oversee and review the adequacy and effectiveness of the branch's operations, internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance.
  • Monitor the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial reports and accounting records.
  • Ensure the continuity, reliability, and security of the information systems.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of compliance management in relation to anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism financing (CTF), and related regulations.
  • Fulfill audit projects assigned by local and Chinese banking regulators.
  • Execute audit projects commissioned by the head office and provide relevant audit support.
  • Maintain communication with local regulatory authorities regarding audit matters.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in internal auditing in the banking or financial sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal audit principles, risk management, and German regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in audit software and tools.
  • Excellent command of English; proficiency in German and Chinese.
  • Self-motivated with excellent teamwork skills.
