at ZEISS Medical Technology: As a Senior Software Architect, you will help improve healthcare by designing and engineering software for next-generation medical devices. You will work in a modern, innovative environment and develop high-end surgical microscopes for neu-rosurgery.


Your role

Your main tasks will include

  • Taking ownership of the conception and ongoing development of the software architecture
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to the development team
  • Supporting technical questions, challenges, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborating closely with other development teams and departments
  • Coordinating technical aspects with external development partners
  • Creating technical and release documentation, as well as architecture diagrams
  • Supporting cybersecurity activities, including evaluating analysis results
  • Conducting code reviews to ensure code quality and compliance with standards and specifications
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions

  • A university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 4 years as a Software Architect in regulated envi-ronments (medical, automotive, military)
  • Extensive experience in developing and owning software architecture for complex systems
  • Strong knowledge of C++ 14/17/20, with a proven track record of implementing complex software solutions
  • Preferable experience with CMake and Conan or comparable build and packaging mechanisms
  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Development (OOD, OOP) and design patterns
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies, including agile practices
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and software engineering skills
  • Experience in mentoring and leading development teams
  • Proficient verbal and written skills in English, and preferably in German as well
