Job Description
Interzero Business Solutions GmbH is one of the leading environmental service providers based in Cologne. As a full-service provider of recycling services, it offers industry and trade services for the return of sales and transport packaging, product recycling, deposit return, innovative reusable transport packaging, as well as consulting and disposal services for locations, warehouses, and branches.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure using GitLab CI, Linux, and tools like Terraform and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) .
- Optimize and Monitor Systems: Enhance the reliability of our platform, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Observability Tools: Implement and maintain monitoring and logging systems, leveraging platforms like Prometheus, Sentry, Kubecost, Grafana, or ELK Stack to ensure high availability and performance.
- Networking Expertise: Design and troubleshoot complex network systems, including knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN), Amazon virtual private clouds (VPCs), and virtual private network (VPN)
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with developers, other Platform engineers, and product teams to solve complex problems and integrate systems smoothly.
Profile
- Experience: At least five years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps; a degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration (including shell scripting, systemd, networking), GitLab CI, Terraform, Kubernetes (EKS), and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
- Database Expertise: Experience with Postgres and MySQL is required; knowledge of Oracle DB is a bonus.
- Docker Expertise: Proficient in containerization and deploying containerized applications.
- Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with networking principles, tools, and protocols, including SDN, VPCs, and VPN setups.
- Observability: Experience implementing robust monitoring and logging solutions, leveraging Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack for system observability.
- CI/CD and Monitoring: Skilled in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and implementing monitoring tools.
- Analytical Skills: Analytical thinking, structured working style and high-quality standards.
- Languages: Fluent spoken and written English; German skills are a plus.
- Personality: You are communicative, assertive, eager to learn and reliable – in short: a real team player with drive.
