Job Description

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team in Mannheim, Germany. We are a premium housewares brand, with a portfolio of distinguished brands including Zyliss, Cole & Mason, Culinare, AdHoc, Ken Hom and Swissmar; and we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional and innovative product ranges.

Taking your lead from the Global Brand Teams, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating local marketing strategies that deliver a best-in-class presence, and drive consumer demand, across DK Household brands (except AdHoc brand in DACH), with primary focus in Germany and Austria, and support to rest of EMEA as needed.

  • Develop annual local marketing plans in line with the Global Brand Strategies. Devise innovative marketing campaigns that resonate with the target audience. Work closely with the commercial teams to ensure the campaigns deliver incremental revenue to the business and enhance the awareness and market share of the brands in key retail channels (online and offline).
  • Deliver market ready seasonal and new product launch presentations to support customer selection meetings and attend where appropriate alongside the commercial team.
  • Manage all aspects of local consumer, media and public relations. Manage external agency relationships to achieve timely and positive media coverage across all relevant media through the management of the Region's PR agency, consulting with relevant internal/external parties.
  • Develop consumer marketing collateral to support the overall commercial plan, including catalogues, presentations, samples, key events, sponsorship agreements and product demonstrations. Ensure compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Manage the marketing budget and evaluate the performance of marketing activities and collateral to ensure optimum return on investment at all times.
  • Gather market intelligence, including sales out data, consumer trends and competitor insight for the region. Report regularly on insights gained from the data, identify new opportunities, and ensure competitive advantage at all times.
  • Provide support, where appropriate and needed, on all marketing and trade related matters, including support to trade/POS and customers.

  • Strong and demonstrable ability in digital and performance marketing to lead the transition to digital & marketing led organisation.
  • Ability to develop integrated marketing plans, manage budget and execute and evaluate the performance of marketing strategies.
  • Excellent and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced technical marketing skills, including knowledge in social media, consumer focus groups, competitor analysis and market entry strategies.
  • Attention to detail and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong project management and organisational skills. Clearly demonstrate a structured approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities, think strategically and creatively whilst thriving in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to use initiative and work effectively with different teams.
  • Highly numerate and able to understand and analyse business performance measures and generate actionable insight from a range of data.
  • A strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements gained from working within a similar environment.
  • Lead, support, coach and educate the organisation in an effective way.
  • Able to represent the organisation in a professional manner.
  • Fluent in English and German. Any other European language will be a plus

Background, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or similar qualification.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of the consumer goods industry in Germany. Rest of Europe will be a plus.
  • A sound understanding of digital media and performance tracking through reporting of KPIs.
  • Experience of working across multi-channel communications platforms, retail and direct to consumer markets.
  • An extensive knowledge of project management methodologies would be desirable.
  • Effective management skills gained from working within a marketing management role.
