Job Location:

Vishay Electronic GmbH in Selb is a production site for passive components. Since 1996 as part of Vishay we have been manufacturing resistors and capacitors. These electronic components are used in medical, entertainment and automotive electronics, among others. With around 900 employees, Vishay plays a key role as one of the most important employers in our region. The town of Selb is located directly on the Czech border and boasts the scenic surroundings of the Fichtelgebirge.


Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Understand the company's strategic intent, and partner with business leaders in the oversight planning and execution of key talent management programs) such as workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, talent development, promotions, change leadership, and organizational design and development
  • Can act on behalf of HR Manager and ensure continuity of all ongoing activities and support/drive all ongoing activities as and when required
  • Take a true hands-on approach with leaders to help drive business results, improve working relationships and increase productivity and employee engagement
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of associates, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (including coaching, career development guidelines, and corrective actions)
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to manage projects or provide input on HR-related programs and practices
  • Oversee and assist with day-to-day tactical execution. Including but not limited to recruiting, benefits, employee relations and engagement, health/safety, employee training, company events, and policy/procedure communication.
  • Partnership-based cooperation with the local works council


Your Skills and Experience:

whilst skills are not set in stone, we would expect the following profile to be successful in the role. Very importantly we are looking for someone with the ambition and interest to lead the local HR Team short term.

  • University degree in HR, Business Management, Legal or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 6 - 8 years of experience in a customer facing HR role, preferably in an international, worker's council and matrix environment
  • Ability to multi-task and delegate as needed, whilst maintaining a solution-oriented attitude and team player mentality.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate at different levels of authority and influence, the ability to connect well with all employees, and to leave a professional and positive impression
  • Ability to work under pressure and nurture key relationships.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in German and English are required along with the ability to influence others and interface with internal and external contacts
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience working with HRIS systems (Workday) is beneficial
  • Fluent German, and very good English language skills
