For our Department Group Reporting, Controlling, and Consolidation (RCC) Data Hub, we are looking for a (Senior) SAP FICO Functional Expert (f/m/d).
The RCC Data Hub at Heidelberg Materials drives data sharing, governance, and quality across key business areas like Sustainability, Finance, Sales, and Production. We collaborate with departments and hierarchies to support diverse reporting needs.
The role is based at our Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany, and reports to the position Team Lead Data Strategy & Integration.

Join us to deliver business value through aligned SAP FICO solutions, working with Digital Architecture and Business Units to support strategic, plant-level, and group-wide reporting.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
- Financial Data Integration & Design: Design and implement strategies for consistent, high-quality financial data across systems. Ensure seamless integration, reduce manual effort via SAP tools, and support data-driven decisions in collaboration with business and digital teams-aligned with trends like AI in financial reporting.
- Business Architecture Development: Design scalable, business-aligned architectures in collaboration with business teams. Document processes, data flows, and system interactions to ensure alignment with digital strategies and seamless translation into technical solutions.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business units, Digital, governance, and analytics teams to understand data needs and deliver aligned, integrated solutions.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Drive innovation by staying current with trends and AI use cases, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing forward-thinking solutions.
YOUR PROFILE
- Background: Bachelor's / master's degree in finance, IT, or related field. 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP FICO, preferably in the manufacturing sector; good understanding of basic financial and accounting principles.
- Functional Expertise: Strong knowledge of SAP FICO configuration, integration, and reporting
- The ideal candidate brings in-depth expertise in SAP FICO, with strong capabilities in configuration, integration, and reporting.
- A broad understanding of various FICO sub-modules-particularly Controlling (CO)-is essential, along with a solid grasp of how FICO interacts with other SAP modules such as SD and MM.
- Familiarity with key master data elements and their cross-module integration is expected.
- Experience in leveraging FICO data for Group reporting use cases and applications is highly valued.
- Knowledge of S/4HANA, as well as proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools, would be considered a strong advantage. - Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and implement data strategies to meet business needs.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes and the ability to align data strategies with business goals.
- Problem Solver: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
