Scientist (m/f/d) SFC R&D

As a Scientist (m/f/d) at the Business Unit Semiconductor, Finishing and Connector Solutions (BU SFC), you will partner with SFC R&D & Application teams and support them in electroless and electrolytic metal plating projects to develop the product portfolio. In this role, you will report to the R&D Manager SF.


Your responsibilities

  • Supervision of experiment planning, control, execution, and evaluation according to project plan
  • Creation of documentations, documents, regulations, and reports for related products and processes
  • Technical supervision executions of patent and literature screenings
  • Ensure all work is conducted safely & in compliance with laws, regulations at MSD standards (e.g. Corporate Compliance etc.).
  • Strong interaction with Project manager, R&D Manager and Applications team as well as cooperation with further internal and external partners
  • Driving product development projects to a successful conclusion
  • Resolving troubleshooting cases within the project
  • Experimental set up and cooperation with internal and external partners
  • Supporting the R&D Team Semiconductor / Final Finishing / Connectors (SFC) in decision making

  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy or Electrochemistry with a PhD
  • Professional work experience in wet chemical metal deposition technologies
  • Basic analytical and electrochemical knowledge to monitor processes
  • You are proficient in common office applications and tools such as Microsoft Office and are not afraid to familiarize yourself with new programs
  • You have excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Ability to spend 50% of work in the laboratory and willingness to travel up to 20% abroad
  • Creative and proactive way of working with high quality standards and a simultaneous focus on results
  • You are a personality with strong analytical skills
