DHL Express Network Operations European Head office manage and monitor the performance of the various processes and procedures that allow a shipment to progress through the DHL network. We are seeking for a Head of Safety Europe f/m/d based in Leipzig or Bonn, other specific European DHL Express locations might also be possible, to be a part of our global network and member of the Network Operations Team, could this be you? The Head of Safety (m/f/d) for Europe's purpose is to drive the Safety First Strategy and vision within the region, supporting the overall aim of preventing incidents through standardizing and implementing safety management systems and developing innovative and creative programs to improve safety culture.

YOUR TASKS
  • Develop and implement the regional safety management system and Global Safety Policy in line with the Safety-First Framework and ISO 45001

  • Design, implement and communicate safety programs for the region and ensure monitoring of effectiveness in Countries and Hubs
  • Be a visible and credible thought leader on occupational safety, both internally and externally. Coach and support leadership.

  • Ensure regionwide compliance to legislative requirements, industry standards and internal needs.

  • Represent the Europe region on the Global Safety Steering Committee and collaborate on a global level to improve safety culture and awareness.

  • Develop and implement online safety system to monitor and manage safety risks.

  • Ensure monitoring and measurement of the Safety First Framework through internal audit and lead major incident investigations for the region.


WHAT YOU BRING
  • Master's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or equivalent, ideally CSP or CMIOSH.
  • Proven extensive and solid experience in the field of Safety within a corporate environment at the country or regional level and Health Management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Safety Management Systems such as ISO45001.
  • Cross-cultural competency, strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence change at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to motivate and mobilize others and to influence without authority.
  • Passion for Safety, strategic thinking and the ability to adapt to different legal requirements.
