To support our engineering department, we are looking for the next possible date for a

LEAD ENGINEER EMBEDDED SOFTWARE (M/F/D)

for our location in Idstein.


  • Lead a team of 6 engineers in developing and implementing complex embedded software solutions, focusing on SFOC projects for motor controls in power tools.
  • Work closely with the Chief Engineer for Embedded Software and other software teams across design centers to enhance platforming initiatives and drive innovation.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, including estimating, monitoring, and ensuring timely delivery of software development tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance to team members and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop highly complex systems.
  • Evaluate and implement secure coding practices and approve design reviews to ensure software quality.
  • Develop and execute product and technology strategies to promote advanced technologies and processes, contributing to the company's mission and goals.
  • Plan resources, develop personnel, and proactively manage employee health and safety.

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Longterm experience in embedded software development, with deep knowledge of SFOC implementation in power tools and proven experience leading teams focused on SFOC projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in C/C++ and experience with Git.
  • Experience with Jira APIs and errata sheets.
  • Skills in troubleshooting, applying object-oriented design principles, and a proven track record of fostering innovation and continuous improvement in a technical environment.
  • Knowledge of motor control, particularly Sensorless Field Oriented Control, and experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to support platforming initiatives.
  • Ensure the delivery of secure, high-quality software.
