(Senior) Application Technologist Baking Francophone (m/f/d)

The (Senior) Application Technologist Baking is responsible for the development and optimization of products and their application suitability for our customers. The main task is to develop innovative solutions and to drive new product launches, as well as to explore the application of new technologies in various areas.


  • Product development in collaboration with the sales, product management, research, or marketing team
  • Conducting on-site trials, with travel up to 70%
  • Performing experiments, formulating recipes, and conducting lab-scale tests to optimize product performance
  • Direct collaboration with customers to understand their specific application challenges and provide technical support, as well as advice on product selection, usage, and troubleshooting
  • Designing and executing application trials or laboratory tests
  • Analyzing test data, interpreting results, and preparing technical reports with recommendations for product improvements or modifications
  • Project work or, depending on experience level, leading projects
  • Collaborating with quality control teams or the Global Quality & Standards department
  • Working with interdisciplinary teams such as Master Data Management, Global Quality & Standards, Research, Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing
  • Planning and conducting training sessions and workshops for internal teams, sales representatives, and customers
  • Continuously exploring new technologies, ingredients, and processing techniques
  • Identifying emerging customer needs and deriving new opportunities for product development.

  • Completed training in bakery and further qualification as a food technologist or similar
  • Work experience in the above-mentioned area and product development
  • Enjoyment and routine in planning and conducting presentations for various target groups
  • Experienced in the use of enzymes and raw materials, as well as in the development of flour treatments and product development
  • Proficient in conducting and preparing raw material and product analyses, as well as standard baking trials
  • Competent in developing specific solutions with and for our customers
  • Willing to travel abroad (focus on Francophone Africa)
  • Willing to relocate to the Hamburg metropolitan region
  • Intercultural competence
  • Excellent English and French skills; German is an advantage
