The Sustainability Office (SO) is one of the company's global functions and located in Heidelberg, Germany, and led by the Chief Sustainability Officer. The Sustainability Strategy & Engagement Team is part of the SO.
The SO team members are tasked to weave sustainability deep into Heidelberg Materials' business model and to embed it into our corporate culture. Our diverse team plays a central role in supporting group functions, operations, and countries.
The mission of the Manager (f/m/d) Sustainability Strategy & Reporting is to be at the forefront of ESG developments, engage with stakeholders to assess and evaluate different positions, and to provide strategies and guidance for the company's further developments in the field of sustainability reporting. The development and steering the implementation of strategic measures takes strength in both independent way of working and collaborating closely with diverse teams.
You will report directly to the position Teamlead Sustainability Strategy & Engagement, located in Heidelberg, Germany.
- Guide the future direction of our sustainability reporting by following current developments in ESG reporting, conduct benchmarking and trend analyses
- Lead and further develop the double materiality assessment
- Develop the concept and support implementation of Impact Measurement
- Lead the integration of ESG in financial reporting and support the combined annual report with a focus on the upcoming CSRD aligned sustainability statement
- Take ownership for the assessments of ESG-Risks with a focus on Climate Risks (physical and transitional)
- Monitor regulatory changes (e.g. CSRD/ESRS, EU-Taxonomy, IFRS S1, S2,…), expand the reporting scope to ensure compliance, define and steer implementation
- Close alignment with technical, financial and controlling departments on topics such as data analyses & reporting, automation, internal processes
- Academic degree in business administration, engineering or other relevant fields
- Minimum of three years of work experience, preferably in audit or reporting related functions, with a focus on sustainability
- Strong strategic skillset, capability to identify and address challenges and gaps, and proactively provide concepts and opportunities to improve
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills, critical thinking, self-motivation and strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Good IT skills, especially Office 365, additional knowledge of ESG reporting software is a plus
- Fluent German (native speaker) very good and English skills (favorable C-Level), additional languages on B level are desirable but not mandatory
