You want to do exciting work and take responsibility for your own projects starting from day one – all geared to a clear target role? Then join our 18-month Graduate Program and shape the future of ZEISS.  

During the 18 months, you will rotate between 4 different ZEISS departments across the company's different business units and possibly also abroad. Which departments these are depends on you – your chosen focus and your future role. During the program, you will also take part in several training sessions, workshops and project work that enhances your professional and personal development and prepare you to take on complex Systems Engineering tasks. All this aims at enabling you to hit the ground running after completing the program – and make you familiar with the basics to kickstart your career @ ZEISS. 

Possible tasks within the program: 

  • Systems Engineering in ongoing projects from research to development

  • Design and validation of complex opto-electronic systems

  • Master interdisciplinary tasks and bring together software and hardware solutions

  • Work together with senior experts in their fields and prepare a solution for medical technology, vision care, the semiconductor industry, or life science research


  • Completed field of study in in a MINT course (Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Mathematics or similar)

  • Practical experience gained, for example, as an intern or working student (maximum of 1,5 years) 

  • Experience in common MS Office applications as well as programming languages like Python

  • Familiar with working in an optical laboratory and have experience with lasers, optical setups, and standard electronic measurement equipment.

  • Flexibility to work at different ZEISS locations in Germany during the program

  • Fluent in English & German, both written and spoken, further languages beneficial
