Your Tasks

- You are part of a global team located in Hilden (next to Düsseldorf) that generates cost savings for QIAGEN by designing suppliers materials and construction/production processes to achieve performance at lowest cost

- To identify cost saving reductions you utilize cost methodologies, tools, appropriate software and models.

- You influence and provide consultation on material/process choices at design phase and identify financially viable changes for products already in the market

- You work closely with the procurement function to maximize the savings in pricing discussions with suppliers

- You are responsible for your own tracking of potential ideas and generated savings


Your Profile

We are looking to fill two positions:

Position one: a focus on QIAGENS diagnostic instruments (“analysis machines”). Here a Bachelor's degree and/or background in Production, Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical engineering would be required.

Position two: a focus on QIAGENS injection molded plastic parts. Here a Bachelor's degree and/or background in Production, Industrial or Plastics Engineering would be required.

- You have experience in Cost Engineering, Cost Estimating, planning, scheduling, estimating and other areas of project controls in a manufacturing environment.

- You bring operating knowledge and experience of SolidWorks, design software or other similar engineering tools

- Production Engineering Skills required: knowledge of costs of material types, treatments and typical production steps. Ideally also covering electrical components.

- You are in touch with advances in relevant material processing technologies and best in class standards via close contact with industry players, industry associations and exhibitions.

- You are known for your excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and German as well as your ability to work cross functionally internally and effectively represent QIAGENs interests at suppliers
