The General Manager will lead the charge in driving profitable sales growth in Germany with a focus on purposeful leadership and strategic direction. They will guide all strategic activities and operational teams, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity while staying aligned with the WMFTS Strategy and Spirax Group plc values. Additionally, as a key member of the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Leadership Team, they will promote inclusivity, fostering collaboration and synergy across borders for collective success.

This role will focus on:

  • Assume full management responsibility for the German business, including various departments such as Sales, Operations, HR, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Drive profitable sales growth and identify strategic new business opportunities within the German market.
  • Provide vision, direction, and purpose for direct reports and their teams, fostering development and career progression.
  • Lead with authenticity, coaching and advising teams while making key decisions on resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with the CEE Leadership Team to support talent management and organizational development initiatives.
  • Drive Total Customer Solutions by aligning Germany with Watson-Marlow value chains and collaborating across EMEA teams.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders such as Supply Companies, Global Business Development, and Research and Development to align activities with company strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with Spirax Sarco Engineering Group policies and procedures, including budget planning and quarterly reporting.
  • Promote a safe working environment, driving health and safety improvements and monitoring EHS performance.

  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of working with senior stakeholders and leading change management.
  • Deep understanding and experience in running all aspects of a business, preferably with P&L responsibility.
  • Delivery-focused, proactive, and organized self-starter with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Inspirational leadership style with excellent influencing and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with experience in leading change initiatives and implementing strategies.
  • Strong collaboration skills across diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate cultural differences and local legislative complexities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
