ShenShine Cleaning Scholarship

CAD $750 for Students Who Think Critically About Clean Spaces and Community Health

Cleanliness isn’t just about personal habits. It’s more than that. It’s public. It’s collective. It affects health, workplace safety, air quality, how productive people are—and how a community is perceived.

Still, even with all that impact, we rarely see cleanliness—especially when it comes to industrial and environmental sanitation—discussed in schools or debated in policymaking.

At ShenShine Cleaning, we’ve been part of this space for years. We clean homes. We clean businesses. We’ve seen what happens when hygiene is ignored. We’ve seen how unsafe it gets—both for the public and for workers.

But more than that, we’ve seen how little attention is given to the relationship between cleanliness, public health, and environmental consequences.

That’s why we created this scholarship.

We’re offering CAD $750 to a student who’s ready to think critically about cleanliness. Not just as something to do—but as something to understand. As a system. A standard. A policy issue.

Application Timeline

  • Opens: July 21, 2025
  • Closes: July 22, 2026
  • Winner Announcement: August 1, 2026
  • Amount: CAD $750
  • Submission Method: Submit your application through the contact form below.

Who Can Apply?

Students in Canada or the USA can apply, as long as they meet these basic conditions:

  • Currently in high school, college, or grad school
  • Already enrolled or officially accepted at an accredited institution
  • Studying any subject—no restrictions on the field of study
  • No minimum GPA, no age limit, no citizenship requirement (as long as you live in the U.S. or Canada)

You might be studying public health. Or maybe it’s business. Or sociology. Or architecture. Or something totally unrelated. That’s fine. We care about the strength of your thinking, not the name of your major.

What We’re Looking For

We’re not asking for policy drafts or abstract theory. We want grounded ideas—real thoughts, based on actual observations and relevant questions.

This is about seeing how cleanliness shapes people and places.

Write one essay. Choose from the topics below. Keep it between 1000 and 1,500 words.

Choose One Topic:

  • “Why Clean Spaces Are Public Health Infrastructure”
  • “The Psychology of Cleanliness: How Sanitation Impacts Human Behavior”
  • “What COVID-19 Taught Us About Cleaning Practices—And What We Forgot Too Soon”
  • “Beyond the Broom: How Commercial Cleaning Affects Worker Safety and Business Trust”
  • “Cleaning inside the Age of Climate Responsibility: Sustainable Solutions or Greenwashing?”

Your Essay Should:

  • Be between 1000 and 1,500 words
  • Be structured, but not stiff
  • Be thoughtful—but easy to follow
  • Address something real, not hypothetical
  • Be entirely your own work

This isn’t a test of academic polish. It’s a call for intelligent writing—work that treats cleanliness as a serious and necessary issue.

How to Submit

You’ll submit everything through the contact form below.
No email submissions. No uploads elsewhere.

Make sure your application includes:

  • Your full name
  • The name of your school and your program
  • Proof you’re enrolled (can be a transcript, school ID, or an acceptance email)
  • The topic you chose from the list
  • Your essay in either PDF or DOCX format (only these two are accepted)

Deadline: Submissions must arrive no later than July 22, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST. Late entries. Incomplete entries. Copied content. None of those will be considered.

How We’ll Choose

The ShenShine Cleaning editorial and operations team will review all submissions. We’re looking for:

  • Strong connection to the topic
  • Original perspective and genuine insight
  • Clear reasoning and logical flow
  • Relevance to real-world problems

One winner will be selected. That student will be notified by email and officially announced on our website on August 1, 2026.
Funds will be paid directly via check or e-transfer.
