About Petre Andrei University of Iasi
“Petre Andrei” University of Iaşi is the largest and most prestigious private higher education establishment in Moldova - the North-Eastern region of Romania. It was established in 1990 as part of the “Petre Andrei” Academic Foundation, a nongovernmental organization devoted to the memory of Petre Andrei, a well known Romanian philosopher and scientist born in Iași. After a long process of institutional assessment and evaluation, in 2002, “Petre Andrei” University was accredited under the Law 408/June 20, 2002, as a private higher education establishment of public utility, constituent part of the Romanian educational system. All of our Licence and Master Degrees are recognized and certified by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports. Our curricula are developed in accordance with the Bologna Treaty.

Our main goal is to nurture the future of our students by delivering educational programmes carefully suited to their needs. Our curricula are informed by the current research and the recent trends of the Romanian labour market and aim to deliver skills for life and actual employment. Creative thinking, pedagogic diversity, and interdisciplinarity are the key concepts of our educational offer.
Each year, over 5.000 students from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds choose our Licence and Master’s Programmes. We also deliver Postgraduate programmes of study (Project Management for Public Servants, Probation and Social Reinsertion, Policies and Social Care Services for the Disabled, etc.) and a Life Long Learning Programme of Special Psycho-Pedagogy for primary and secondary education teachers.

As our university is devoted to the memory of a distinguished Romanian scholar, the philosopher, sociologist and homme des lettres Petre Andrei (1891-1940), post-mortem member of the Romanian Academy, academic excellence is a paramount principle of our organisational culture. We have always been interested in attracting and supporting leading specialists from various fields of research. Among our teachers we are proud to count prominent experts and professionals. More than 50% of our teaching staff has doctoral degrees while the others are already on their way of becoming doctors in their areas of research.
WORKING WITHIN THE COMMUNITY
“Petre Andrei” University has a long tradition of working within and for the community. We also have a strong relationship with the business sector and employers in our region. In a recent study, “University Ranking”, that has measured the degree of trust and satisfaction toward the educational offer of all Romanian universities, “Petre Andrei” University of Iasi has been awarded the 6th place in the country, surpassing many other well known higher education establishments and all the other universities in Iasi. The study has been conducted at the national level by the German company Kienbaum Management Consultants and “Capital”, an important Romanian business magazine, and it involved 3,193 graduates and 395 representatives of 35 companies.
Our university is also involved in numerous social, awareness and humanitarian campaigns.

“Petre Andrei” University of Iaşi supports academic performance and encourages personal and professional development. Each semester, the efforts and achievements of our best students are rewarded by several scholarships: of merit, “Cum Laude”, for scientific activities, of achievement or “Gaudeamus”. Moreover, “Petre Andrei” University of Iaşi aims to ensure equal opportunities for promotion and career development for all its students. In this respect, the students with special medical or social issues are encouraged to go on with their studies by the granting of social scholarships materializing in tax exemptions or reductions in tuition fees.
MODERN LEARNING FACILITIES
The students who choose to attend the courses offered by “Petre Andrei” University of Iaşi are welcomed in a modern building, the tallest in Iaşi, with numerous learning facilities: state of the art classrooms, 12 large auditoriums, 9 specialised labs. Besides these, we also count “Aula Magna”, the great auditorium of the University, various offices and learning spaces. In the building of the University, the students are offered wireless access to the Internet, some classrooms are equipped with interactive boards, and the institution also has a system for simultaneous translations. Moreover, those who choose to attend our courses are offered a virtual platform where they can exchange ideas in the forum or they can find out their school results.
